Governing Law
The terms and conditions set forth herein are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of Jamaica. The Sponsor, its affiliates and participants in this promotion submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jamaica.

This “MOM’S MARVELOUS COURTS BEDROOM MAKEOVER” Promotion is sponsored by GraceKennedy Money Services (GKMS) (“Sponsor”), Authorized Agent of Western Union in Jamaica, located at GraceKennedy Financial Group, 42-56 Harbour Street, Kingston, Jamaica.
Duration of the Promotion
The Promotion runs from: APRIL 15-MAY 31, 2024 (“Qualifying Transaction Period”)

End Date of Promotion: MAY 31, 2024
Draw Date: JUNE 3, 2024
Summary
Customers who receive two or more money transfers from a Western Union store (“Qualifying Actions”) will get the chance to win one of three bedroom sets from Courts.
- Collect two or more Western Union money transfers from a Western Union store.
- Note that Qualifying Actions must be completed during the promotional period.
Prize Descriptions
Three (3) Bedroom sets valued at J$350,000 each
Bedroom sets include: 1 queen sized bedframe, 1 queen sized mattress, 1 nightstand, 1 dresser and mirror.
Mechanics
Three ‘cash pick-up’ customers, i.e., customers who collect their money transfers from a Western Union store during the ‘Qualifying Transaction Period’ will be randomly selected to win a room makeover for their moms, or themselves if they are a mother.
Winner Selection
Winners will be selected by random draw from Qualifying Transactions on June 3, 2024.
Three customers who collected their money transfers from a Western Union location will be selected from the Western Union database using SPSS Version 16 software programme. The process entails logging into the system using company issued credentials, entering the “Qualifying Transaction Period’ (please refer to the details about the Draw Date under the “Duration of Promotion” section above) then entering the number of Winners for the period e.g., 12 for April 15 to May 31, 2024. After that is entered, three customers’ names and their contact details will appear on-screen, and those individuals will be the Winners.
An additional 3 customers’ names will be selected as the back-up Winners (one back-up for each Winner).
Representatives of the BGLC may oversee the selection process on the draw date in person or via our online conference platform, Microsoft Teams. A link to this platform will be furnished by Ayanna Kirton Hynes (Marketing Manager, Remittances) or Bianca Ferguson Duncan (Marketing Officer, Remittances) on request and the screen share feature will be employed for the BGLC representative to oversee the process if online oversight is selected.
Prize Winners will be selected at random using the drawing tools at The GraceKennedy Money Services Head Office on June 3, 2024 at 42-56 Harbour Street, Kingston at 2 PM.
Contacting Winners
The Sponsor’s representative will contact the winners by phone.
Sponsor will make 3 attempts to contact each Winner by phone within three (3) working days after the draw.
If the Sponsor’s representative is unable to contact the Winner, the Sponsor reserves the right to select and contact a backup Winner in the order in which they were drawn.
Failure to claim their prize within ten (10) working days after notification will result in the prize being forfeited and a new selection made from the backup winners. All unclaimed prizes will remain the property of GraceKennedy Money Services.
Prize Distribution
The method of distribution for prizes will be as follows based on the customer’s preference:
- Prizes will be delivered to the location specified by the winner.
Prizes will be handed over to Customers within three ( 3 ) business days of their participation in the PR opportunity.
PR Opportunity
Prizes will be awarded to Customers only after participation in the PR opportunity or “photo-op” if requested by the Sponsor.
PR opportunity involves participation in a photo op at a Courts location. The Winner will be photographed with representative/s from GraceKennedy Money Services and Courts.
Odds of Winning
Odds of winning depend upon the number of Qualifying Transactions during the Promotional Period. Any expenses not specifically identified as part of the Prize are the responsibility of the Winner. Winners will be posted to our social media pages as well as contacted via e-mail after the scheduled drawing. All drawings shall be conducted by the Sponsors. Winner selections are final.
Relationship of the Parties
For the avoidance of doubt, participation in this promotion and selection as a winner in the promotion should not be construed as creating any partnership, relationship, joint venture or other association between the Sponsor and the winner. The winner is not an employee of the Sponsor, GraceKennedy Money Services, Western Union or any of its affiliates.
Suspension or Termination
The Sponsor reserves the right to suspend or terminate the promotion temporarily or permanently if irregularities are detected with prior approval from the Betting, Gaming & Lotteries Commission
General Rules
- The opportunity to enter to win is open only to persons residing in Jamaica who are 18 years of age or older.
- Employees of Sponsor, GraceKennedy Money Services, Western Union and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and their immediate family members (mother, father, and children) are not eligible for participation.
- Winners will be required to sign a talent release form upon acceptance of a prize which constitutes permission to the Sponsor and its agencies to use winner’s name and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. Additionally, by the mere fact of participating, winners assign to the Sponsor, free of charge, voluntarily, non-exclusively and with the right to transfer to third parties, in whole and/or in part, all image, audio and/or video rights arising under the Promotion, for editing, reproduction, dissemination and public communication by any means (including social networks and internal communication platforms of the Sponsor).
- Winners will forfeit the prize in the event they refuse to sign the talent release form to grant permission to GraceKennedy Money Services and its agencies to use their names and likenesses for advertising purposes.
- Winners assume all liability for any injury or damage caused or claimed to be caused, by participation in this Promotion or Redemption of any Prize.
- Neither Sponsor nor Western Union shall be liable in the event that the Winner, for any reason, fails to claim his/her prize. Neither shall be responsible for any accident or injury suffered by the Winner as a result of the Winner’s use of the prize.
- Neither Sponsor nor Western Union shall be liable for any damage to the Winner’s or any third party’s property or personal injury arising out of or in connection with this Promotion or the enjoyment of the prize.
- Winners who collected their money transfers from a Western Union store will receive their prizes via their preferred distribution method once all requirements are met.
- By participating in this Promotion, Entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules. Any claim or dispute arising under these rules is subject to the ruling of the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission.
- Prizes are transferable however, all winners are required to present a valid form of government-issued ID (i.e. National ID, Passport or Driver’s License)
- Limit one prize per winner.
Legal
The Sponsor reserves the right to initiate the legal actions they deem appropriate in the event of detecting any irregularity in relation to the development of the Promotion established in these regulations.
Any relationship generated by virtue of the Promotion between the Participants and the Sponsor shall be governed by the laws of Jamaica. Any legal matter that may arise from the conduct of the Promotion, shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Jamaica.
